prostitution
Sex trafficking is the buying or selling of a person for the purpose of sexual exploitation or the trade in rape. The reason why the demand is so high is because our culture "tolerates" or promotes sexual exploitation; men who buy commercial sex; exploiters who make up the sex industry; and states that are complicit in providing safe haven for pimps and traffickers either as source or destination countries. Many people consider sex trafficking and prostitution completely different. The world sees sex trafficking as something that the victims are forced into while prostitution is seen as an occupation that people willingly do. Studies have shown that as much as 95% of prostituted women want out of prostitution but can't leave but due to circumstances like having no other job skills, needing to be able to provide food and shelter for themselves and possibly family, and being under the control of their perpetrators. Both sex trafficking and prostitution prey on women and girls who are vulnerable due to poverty, discrimination and violence
Here is a question to consider;
If they cannot leave, just like how victims of sex trafficking are unable to leave, does that not mean that prostitution is just another type of sex trafficking?
Here are two quotes to consider - one from a victim of prostitution, and one from a man who condones prostitution;
“In the process of selling my body, I was shot five times, stabbed more than 13 times, beaten unconscious several times, had my arm and nose broken, had two teeth knocked out, lost a child that I will never see again, was verbally abused, and spent countless days in jail."
“Being with a prostitute is like having a cup of coffee, when you’re done, you throw it out."

- Prostitution does injury to the dignity of the person who engages in it, reducing the person to an instrument of sexual pleasure. The one who pays sins gravely against himself: he violates the chastity to which his Baptism pledged him and defiles his body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. Prostitution is a social scourge. It usually involves women, but also men, children, and adolescents. While it is always gravely sinful to engage in prostitution, the attribution of the offense can be due to destitution, blackmail, or social pressure. Rape is also a part of prostitution, and the Catholic Church views this as a forcible violation of sexual intimacy, which can cause psychological distress, and influence the victims functioning.

- Nowadays, men are allowed to hire womenfor a certain period of time, to have sex with her. The only exception to this is if the slave girl desires chastity. Chastity is sexual purity, and the abstinence of sexual intercourse before marriage. As prostitution is condemned and forbidden in Islam, many are not aware of the significance and realities of this problem. If Muslim men do not give respect towards a woman, and take advantage of her, they must be punished. In terms of sexual slavery, this is not considered as prostitution, and is allowed in the Islamic faith. Another form of slavery and prostitution common in Islam is 'fixed term marriage', where the duration of the marriage must be specified and agreed upon in advance. This is considered as a better method of prostitution as the women has the ability to choose the duration of how long she will be in the marriage for, and also specify what she will do in the marriage.
